Membership dues — where does the money go? Why Join?
If you are not already a member of SCBS, your participation is respectfully requested. Annual Dues are $35.00, or become a Life Member for $300.00. SCBS is a California 501-C non-profit organization. We do not have paid staff, and everything we do is funded by annual dues, grants, and donations. Organizations like the California Chapter of the Wild Sheep Foundation generously sponsor the cost of materials for some projects, and the SCBS volunteers provide the labor. However, there are other costs involved to keep this organization going, and the financial health of SCBS relies solely on good people like you purchasing a membership. We are frugal, but the work incurs unreimbursable costs. Expenses include (not limited to) maintenance and repair of our SCBS Big Red Ford truck & trailers (they take a beating), insurance (most organizations need this to be able to do ANYTHING), repairing or replacing flat tires, postage for correspondence, publication costs of the Sheep Sheet newsletter, guzzler maintenance supplies, rental of specialized or mechanized tools (such as an excavator), repair of tools, the list goes on. Some of you may not be able to participate in field projects, but you can show your faithful support to the folks that put themselves out there. Please consider purchasing and renewing an annual membership. Great works are happening for wildlife, please help fund the efforts of our volunteers. Our field crews appreciate it, and so will the Bighorn sheep, deer, coyotes, foxes, bobcats, mountain lions, eagles, badgers, squirrels, rabbits, insects, bats…
Annual Memberships for renew each year in January. Join as a member/volunteer, we need your support!
